Jigs and Fixtures — representative metal prototype concept
Representative application concept. Your part is defined by its approved drawing and quotation.
Build your project brief

Make the application requirements clear.

01 / PROJECT REVIEW

Assembly location

Identify the components being held, their mating features and the assembly sequence. Define the tool’s locating and clamping concept.

02 / PROJECT REVIEW

Inspection references

Provide datums, measured features and the method used to judge the assembly. Specify reference surfaces and report expectations.

03 / PROJECT REVIEW

Workshop access

Review access for operators, fasteners, probes or fabrication equipment. Describe handling, clearance and environmental constraints.

Quotation preparation

Bring the details that define your part.

Prepare a 3D CAD model and dimensioned drawing where available. Identify units, part number and revision. If the design is incomplete, explain which decisions remain open.

  • Mating-part CAD and assembly sequence
  • Datums, locating points and measured features
  • Clamping concept, access and handling constraints
  • Quantity, acceptance checks and required date

Confirm the complete scope

Review material, manufacturing route, finishing, inspection and documents together. Identify the included operations, exclusions, commercial terms and delivery assumptions in the written quotation.

Where useful, agree a prototype or sample review stage before authorizing a repeat batch. Any revision change should be approved with its cost and schedule impact.

Tooling accuracy and fit must be assessed against the agreed drawing and acceptance plan.

Project questions

Before you request a quotation.

What information is needed for a custom jig?

Provide the mating components or their geometry, the task the jig must support and the method used to check the result. Mark fixed references and the interfaces that may change between revisions.

What information confirms price and delivery?

Your approved geometry, material, quantity, finishing, inspection and delivery requirements form the quotation scope. Share a target date and destination early; the final price and schedule are confirmed in writing after review.

How should I share confidential drawings?

Contact us first to agree confidentiality and an appropriate transfer method. Begin with a brief description of the application and the files you need to share.
